When you open the Mighty Networks app you are immediately faced with a decision: “Create a Network,” or “Find a Network.”

Either way, you’re ready to connect to people who want more than a meme or a passing hashtag reference to a topic. You’re ready to dive deep—and there are about 340 million people out there willing to dive with you.

My guest on the podcast is Gina Bianchini, founder and CEO of Mighty Networks. Gina created Mighty Networks to be a social platform that goes beyond the typical scrolling conversations of social media and focuses instead on community and engagement between network members.

“My story and my experience has been, you know, pick a lane, and, you know, really I believe in this model that is creator centric; that is creator lead; that is about how do you build a platform that allows [you]…to provide the conditions by which people feel safe and comfortable expressing who they are as people, but more importantly making connections and building relationships in that context around the things that you’ve spent time and developed an expertise around in terms of frameworks and models for each of us to realize our full potential.”

Whether it’s managing email replies to a podcast newsletter or starting a discussion about living with Type 1 diabetes, Mighty Networks gives creators the opportunity to keep all of their communication tools in one place, facilitate conversations, provide content, and even charge subscriptions. Gina’s enthusiasm is contagious as she describes the possibilities of her platform in helping leaders emerge and create lasting communities.

“[T]he future is more and more creators being able to make a living doing what they love.”

I love Gina’s focus on community, and her desire to utilize technology to strengthen those bonds is invigorating. Join us as we discuss the communities that helped form Gina into the woman she is today.  Listen on the player below, or download the episode on iTunes. If you like what you hear please leave me a note! I would love to foster the community surrounding my podcast, and there is no time like the present for getting the ball rolling!
