Devanie Hopfenbeck, director of products and services, works in several different capacities at Disruption Advisors. Between supporting clients, working with the team to develop client solutions, and facilitating workshops, there is rarely a dull moment.
More than anything, Devanie loves the people she works with. “Working in a small, fast-paced environment can be challenging,” she says. “But when you get to work with dedicated, fun, and smart people, it makes the challenges feel doable.”

Describe your role at Disruption Advisors. What does your typical workday look like?
I live in the land of client support and delivery. I divide my time between working directly with clients as an account manager and working in the background to prepare for client work. That may mean creating workshops or offsites, working with the certification team to develop resources, or supporting our coaches and facilitators. I also manage several people on the team, so I spend some time in a managerial capacity. As a director at Disruption Advisors, I have the opportunity to work with my peers and the executives on company strategy and building a strong company culture.
What is your favorite part about working at Disruption Advisors?
It’s hard to pick just one piece. For one—our team. I love the people I work with. Working in a small, fast-paced environment can be challenging. But when you get to work with dedicated, fun, and smart people, it makes the challenges feel doable. I also love the ability to create at Disruption Advisors. We are constantly evolving and growing (could we say disrupting?!), and that gives a lot of space for you to think creatively and problem-solve. I’m never bored, and this is a place where I feel valued.
Tell me about you. What are your passions, hobbies, and interests?
My husband and I recently moved back to Colorado after four years away – we missed the sunshine, our families, and the outdoors. I love the mountains—they’re definitely my happy place. I love to hike, run, snowshoe, and ski and I stay active however I can. I am an avid reader, but mostly light-hearted reads. Reading is an escape for me.
In terms of passions, I started my career in the nonprofit sector, and I have always felt deeply connected to my communities. I like to volunteer and stay engaged civically. I love people – I spend much of my time with family, friends, and coworkers. And I love traveling. I’m not an overly enthusiastic sports fan, but my husband is, so I also spend a lot of time watching Denver sports and University of Michigan football. Go Blue!
